Lots o Rocks

This is the view from my balcony.  I could fish for rocks.
Today was AMAZING you wouldn't believe the tables and tents and hotel rooms full of rocks and gems.  They are everywhere you turn, the whole city has been turned into one huge show.  Every third parking lot is full of tents with some sort of rocks, fossils or dino bones they even have petrified dino and turtle poo.  I'm not kidding folks I couldn't make this stuff up.  I don't have any prices for the stuff but if your interested I will look into it tomorrow.
Believe it or not this crystal formation is the size of a big leather chair!
Here is the view from the front of our motel.
Tucson is wonderful place for people like Diane and I who can't have gluten.  The eateries we have visited to so far have been so good it's enough to make me want to move here.  This morning we visited a gluten free bakery called Gourmet Girls Go Gluten Free and I got my first sandwich not made by me, it was a triple layer grilled cheese with avocado and tomato.  I also got some bagel chips, Mexican wedding cookies and carrot cake cupcakes.  Tonight we went to an Italian place called Zona 78, we got the best GF pizza I have ever had, no cardboard crust for us.
It's such a dream to look at this and know I can have any of it I want :)
My gluten free grilled cheese, avocado and tomato sandwich.
Amazing Gluten Free Pizza, BEST EVER
I want to take one of these home.

  1. Looks quite surreal! I would love to go one day although the thought of getting around there sounds a little formidable! I have heard you have to know where to go and book WAY ahead of time... is this what you had to do? The choices look amazing.. and the sandwiches pretty good too.

  2. So cool! I would love to travel to Tucson some day. But it would only work with friends, particularly those that know their way around! I like your idea of fishing for fossils from your balcony! I can't wait to see how this inspires you! Enjoy the day. Erin
