Bead Soup Reveal

So it's the big day we all have been waiting for.  Since I will be camping with my extended family I wrote this blog early and hope that it posts at the right time.

First off I have to thank Sally of the blog Wire Worked for sending me such a beautiful bunch of goodies to play with.  The challenge was how to edit what was sent into a piece as small as a bracelet since I wear them more often than necklaces.  Making an necklace would have been easier since the pendant she sent me only had one hole but you know me, fearless, I just drilled it.  With so many choices all of them wonderful I put together several things but ended up cutting them apart and starting over when I realized that something else would work better.  After several trys I finally ended up with a bracelet that's perfect for fall and will go with so much of my wardrobe I wondered why I haven't worked in these colors before?   It's time to make some more pieces in the lovely fall colors Sally sent.  Please visit Sally's blog to see what she did with the beads I sent her.
If you are interested in viewing the 300 other bloggers please visit Lori's site for the list.

My bead soup bracelet

Bracelet in the long view

Bead soup challenge finished piece
Edited to say:  To drill glass, porcelain, rocks, shells or anything like this you simply use a small diamond bit in your drummel with your piece underwater in a shallow dish.  Go slow, if you need a larger hole than you started with simply work up to that size.  I got my diamond bits at harbor freight,  it was a set of 10 different shapes and sizes.

  18. I love how you incorporated the ribbon in the bracelet band, it give the piece color and bulk that the focal needs. It seems hugged by the ribbon chain and supported by the dangles. Lovely work

  20. Stunning. I am so impressed you drilled the pendant! Is it clay? It really works with two holes but I wouldn't know where to start to achieve the same :-) really gorgeous piece - it looks like it would feel beautiful to wear - lots of different textures and movement.

  24. How beautiful! I am not a lover of Fall colors (ME = Redhead who was FORCED to wear orange & brown for my 1st 16 years, because "that's what redheads wear", and they truly are NOT my colors) but anyway, that is one stunning bracelet! Nice creativity!
