Floral Bead Caps

I found a cute tin with tiny flowers printed on it when I was out in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago and knew right away I had to have it to make bead caps. They measure just over half an inch across so they aren't very big but they are heavily domed.  I'm not sure what project these will show up in but I have them in case the perfect one comes along.

If you want to create some your self they are extremely easy to make. First you have to cut the tin apart, I would suggest using some protective gloves so you don't slice your hand open on the sharp tin.  I pop the center hole first because my Swanstorm Disk Cutter has the self centering pegs to make centering the holes easily.  If you can decide what size beads you want to use it will help you decide the size of your bead cap to cut out.  I normally use smaller sized beads in my work but wanted the floral pattern to really stand out that's why I chose this size.

  1. Totally awesome I have hoarded all sorts of tin over the years for just such a purpose but I never seem to get to it. Thanks for the eye candy and inspiration and tips! Enjoy the day. Erin
