This past weekend I spent up north with some amazingly talented lampworkers. Each year for the past three we have all gone up to our friend Deb's house in Boyne City, Michigan. It's always fun to see everyone and share new ideas and this weekend was no exception. We had 10 torches set up in Deb's garage and 14 glass girls attended, there isn't any sort of schedule except what time we have to eat and that's every waking minuet that we are not torching or laughing. I always leave extremely tired from staying up until 3 am and very motivated to start some new projects. I didn't get a whole lot made but here is what I did get done.
Glass Headpins, I haven't decided what I am going to do with these yet, we saw them at Bead and Button and I have wanted some every since. Yes those are lips and teeth headpins :) |
Sugar Skull trials, the one to the top right is my favorite so from now on they will look like him without my tool mark in the nose I hope :) |
This is the Drawing of our group my talented friend Chris Fisher. |

The shadows your headpins cast are almost as beautiful as the headpins themselves! Looking forward to seeing more sugar skulls!
ReplyDeleteI really like the sugar skulls, can't wait to see more. ^.^
ReplyDeleteLovely works of art :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, there are more sugar skulls in the kiln right now so I will have photos tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a fun event and your glass headpins are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBoyne City is a wonderful spot to be creative, isn't it? Were you there this weekend? I wasn't too far away and the color was dazzling! Love all you did! Especially the headpins.
