The Art of Closure

Today was the first day of the Art of Closure class with Deryn Mentock and as the true over achiever that I am, I finished all the video's today. I believe there were 16 of them.  I think there were actually 23 or 24 pieces.  After 10 hours of work I have about 102 pieces but they aren't all finished.
My new button closures made with my handmade glass beads.
I had to bend the backs a bit to make them lay right so they could be photographed.
Every time I take a class the notes I take end up someplace where I will never find them so this time I decided to make 1 of each piece and attach it to a card that would sit in the bottom of one of those cheap Hobby Lobby organizing boxes. I know now that when I run out of the links I won't be as tempted to use the last one because it's wired to the card and I have all the info right there to make another one. Having the info needed at my fingertips is really going to save so much time.

The lengths have been blurred to protect the innocent :)
I burled out some of the info since I didn't think it would be right to share but I wanted to show you all the idea.  I love to take classes and I think that this is a great way to organize class information so it is usable and at your fingertips where and when you need it.  I may go back and do the same thing with a couple of other classes I have taken while I can still find the notes.
Here is my closure box with all the cards in place and the extra parts in their bins.

  3. Wow! I'm so impressed with what you've accomplished in such a short time! I, too, am taking Deryn's class. I'm still acquiring some of the tools I didn't already own though. I look forward to working my way through the projects.

  5. Thanks everyone, you won't be sorry you signed up for the class. The instructions are so well organized just make sure to take good notes while watching the videos because there aren't any PDF files for reference.
