Bits of the Past

My mom left me with a bunch of beautiful buttons that I have been making jewelry out of.  I love the look of these old buttons, they add the perfect antique rustic feel to my pieces.  Many of my buttons have been used and reused on so many pieces of clothing that they are a bit rough and pitted and I like these the best.  I hate to say it but my pearl button collection is getting low.  I would like to offer an exchange to anyone having a jar or two of pearl buttons.  If you send me your pearl buttons I would be happy to make you a piece or three. I will also pay for the shipping.

Here are my new necklaces called Bits of the Past.  They are strung on a twenty four inch chain with tiny bits of lace under glass and antique buttons hanging from the bottom.  Each one is it's own unique little piece of the past. One of the fun things about these is that the front and back are glass and you can see the color of clothing you are wearing through the lace so it will go with any color you put on.

  4. They are lovely. I unfortunately don't have any buttons for you though. . . I love my mums button collection. Used to play with it for hours.

  5. I'm a lover of buttons as well. And, because of that I don't think I could part with them. Though, your pretty pieces do make a tempting trade. . .
However, it looks as though you've got someone else interested in a trade. Best of luck!!

  8. Oh, really, you must stop doing this. Every time you design something new, I want one. Now where is that going to get me? lol. These tie together so many things I love. (Guess you thought that might happen for one or two of us, eh?!) Seriously beautiful stuff here. Seriously.

  11. These are so beautiful! Do you glue the lace in? Or does it just set between the glass????

    1. Thanks, I try to never use glue in my jewelry because it tends to discolor over the years. I have been wearing one for months now and the lace doesn't shift or move because it's so tight between the layers.
